"Classic Christianity" was a God-send the day I found it at, of all places, a garage sale for 25 cents! I was so excited after looking over the book. I did not know who Bob George was at the time and saw he was from the Dallas and the book was on Grace. I thought I found a treasure for sure. Reading this treasure open my eyes why all the years of struggle I had with the church. I had read Joseph Prince's book "Destined to Reign" my first eye-opener to the Gospel of Grace for me and Bob George's book put it all together. I like what he says "Life's Too Short To Miss the Real Thing", and I had spent 37 years striving to be accepted and to please God. I am His Beloved!! It is not what I do but what Jesus did . It is finished!!! Think about all the junk you buy for a quarter at garage sales and never think about again. Not this quarter, not this day!

Love to listen to your program. I have read Classic Christianity...loved it!! In fact I read it three times and have loaned it to many people, particularly to those who have walked away from Christianity as they knew it, because it didn't work. What a blast it is to help show them where to find real life in Christ! Thank you from a very, very free man! Having what I have now in Jesus is indescribable.
Glen from Alberta, Canada

Loosened me from the grip...

Published in 1989, this 205 page book loosened me from the grip of my false perceptions of God and Christianity. On Easter Sunday in 1990, I closed the book and stepped from the cabin into the cool Sierra sunshine. I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of the sun against my face. I began to experience a sensation of chains sliding from my body and soul, followed by a heavy thud as the entanglement fell to the ground. The eyes of my heart were opened at that moment in a way that was entirely new and very freeing! “This is the day of Christ’s resurrection,” I pondered, “and it is also the day of my new and resurrected life!”

I first heard the author of “Classic Christianity,” Bob George, during his radio program around 1986. “People to People” became a daily part of my commute in the Bay Area of California. I drove the Monterey Bay to San Francisco Bay area routes five days a week. Immediately, I felt these broadcasts shed light on many dark areas of my thinking. I soon learned how religious legalism had formed warped ideas about my Father God, about myself and others. This was the beginning of my coming to know and experience a new kind of life. The Life of Christ living in me and I in Him! A life that gives us some of heaven here on earth. A life of giving up the struggle, and a life of submitting to God as He lives His life through me!

Many years have past since that Resurrection Day memorial. I continue to find peace and patience in God’s own timing of everything, including my coming to know Him more personally through His Son, Jesus. It seems to take such a long time in becoming more like His Son, but it’s okay with me because He’s in charge of everything, including my progress in life on this earth."

I was just listening to one of your programs covering, once again, the issue of forgiveness. This is the one thing I was SURE was heresy in your teaching, and it was the thing that kept me from buying and reading Classic Christianity for years. I went into Christian bookstores dozens of times and picked your book up and flipped through it, putting it down each time saying, "that is heresy. I can't be totally forgiven. I have to confess each sin after salvation to get forgiven, and so on".

Little did I know that was the real heresy and it kept me in prison for almost thirty years due to cultic teaching in an abusive church. Thank God He persisted in tapping me on the shoulder, I finally bought and read Classic and knew immediately that it was the truth. It was just the beginning of a long journey with Jesus Himself.

Classic Christianity...in jail!

I just wanted to drop you a note & let you know how Classic Christianity is being received at the jail. There are no copies on the library carts! They are all being read & passed from one inmate to the next in our multiple housing dorms. Today, an inmate that was really struggling with condemnation over poor choices that he had made in his life, flagged me down to say "thank you" for recommending Classic Christianity to him. I asked him what he had gotten out of the book. His whole face lit up with excitement as he described to me where he was in the book. The ministry of reconciliation is at work in his life & peace is present. We talked about the grace of God & how God gives us those "aha" moments of understanding & revelation as part of His Grace towards us. He is having one BIG "aha" moment reading Classic. He could not thank me enough for taking the time to talk with him & recommending that he read Classic. Thank you again for the ministry's gift to the inmates of Bastrop County. Wallowing in His Grace! Barbara,.Bastrop County Sheriff's Office

A life-changing blessing...

I first read Classic Christianity in the early 1990s. I had just left my denomination's largest seminary where my wife and I jumped through religious hoops for 3 years in preparation for foreign mission work. The denominational leaders decided we were not quite right for service at the last minute, after encouraging us to leave our home state years earlier, give up our professional careers, and enter the seminary training. Our hearts were broken, but we were not disappointed with God who we knew intended this experience 'for good.' Finding Bob George on the radio and then reading Classic Christianity proved God's good intentions! Now, after years of re-studying Scripture and letting the Holy Spirit teach me the truths, I am fully free of religion, and fully engulfed in a loving relationship with Christ! Ironically, or maybe not, my seminary training, now renewed and re-focused, allowed me to, as a layman, share and teach many, many people the pure message of the gospel. What a life changing blessing Classic Christianity has been to me. Jeff in Memphis

Thank you Bob! I was rescued in 1994 by the radio ministry when PTP was on in St. Louis. I had been a "Green Beret" Christian in a local ministry for 11 years. 4 meetings a week, witnessing, prayer, memorizing scripture-- good stuff but all with tiring fruits and endless tasks- Thanks for the cool drink your ministry allowed me to drink- from the river of Life. I am so blessed. I have been a cheerful and grateful supporter ever since! (even though you had to leave St Louis. I love you guys. Thank God for your faithfulness.

Your book "Classic Christianity" really has opened up my eyes and ears for God. It is right in line with what my pastor has been teaching, but somehow, your book really made me, finally, realize that I am saved, once and for all and that I will not be going before God with tears. Thank you so much for the truth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

I am 73 years old, and accepted Christ into my life at the age of 6 years old. From that point I began a life of being in church every time...etc. I attended independent churches, Baptist churches, So. Bapt. church. I was just religious. They all told the same story of how salvation is free but discipleship will cost you something. My husband and I raised 7 children. Three of our sons are pastors, and preached the same things. Until God took them to the end of their own endeavors and they got hold of Classic Christianity. I believe that God has to reveal truth to each of us and usually it is when we are at the point of desperation. That is where I was. I went to a squeaky clean church,

There would be a long story to tell, but just wanted to let you know that your book Classic Christianity has been an eye opener!. I have been recommending the book or passing on the copy of the German one. As a minister and missionary since 1988 I now often speak on the subject of our identity in Christ in sermons and seminars and have seen how lives are starting to change through this message of grace. Guess I am the main promoter of the book here in Germany! I have a deep conviction that it is the best and most important book besides Gods Word I have ever read. When I visited the US recently I had the chance to share with christians about the book and the message. Thank you for being a blessing. It would have been a great privilege to get to know you personally, but unfortunately not all things are possible. Knowing that we'll have time to chat one day in the presence of the Lord, I am looking forward to say thanks personally for your ministry and the changes your message has provoked in my life and in those of people I minister to with the same message.

Karsten, Germany
